Kids Clay Club | Fridays 4-5.30pm

Weekly 5-session handbuilding clay workshops aimed at children aged 7-12 years old. All tools, materials and firing are included. No previous experience necessary. 

NEXT CLUB - Friday 17th April - Friday 22nd May 2026:

Week 1 - MONSTER MONEY POTS: A welcome session showing how we can make more complex pieces from simple pinch pots. This aims to level up newcomers, and engage those with more experience. 

Week 2 - SPRING WREATHS: A seasonal session learning more about adding, fixing, carving and imprinting into clay. We may also use slips and underglazes to decorate in this session.

Week 3 - ANIMAL SCULPTURES: A playful session in which we will look more closely at modelling in clay - using animals for inspiration! 

Week 4 - SNACK PLATES: A final larger-scale slab-building project designed to help the children understand how ceramics can be useful as well as decorative. Introducing coils as separators, text and mark making into clay. 

Week 5 - DECORATING: A final session to finish off any projects, decorating finished pieces and getting everything ready for their final firing in the kiln!

These workshops are held at my Ashwell studio, taught by me and with one additional member of support staff. Adults are not permitted to stay at these sessions, as space in the studio is limited. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions ahead of booking.
